CrewSync
Delete account and data
Last updated: 25 August 2026
This page explains how to delete your CrewSync account (an app built by App Comin) and what happens to your data. You can do it yourself, inside the app, without contacting anyone.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. The account and the data tied to it cannot be recovered afterwards. If you want to keep your roster or your logged hours, export them first.
1. From the app (recommended)
This is the fastest route: deletion is immediate and needs no review.
- iPhone and iPad: Settings → Preferences → Danger zone → Delete account.
- Android: Settings → Advanced options → Delete account.
- Visitor Mode: visitor menu → Delete account permanently.
The app asks for confirmation before going through with it.
2. By e-mail (if you already uninstalled the app)
Write to contact@appcomin.com from the same e-mail address registered on the account, with the subject “Delete CrewSync account”. We use the sender address to confirm the request is yours; we never ask for your password.
Requests are handled within 7 calendar days and you get a confirmation by e-mail.
3. What gets deleted
When you delete your account, the following is removed from our servers:
- Profile data: name, photo, role, base and airline.
- Rosters synced to the cloud, report times and flight notes.
- Personal flights (logbook), personal events and published hours.
- Connections with other users and any pending invitations.
- Messages sent in crew chat, chat participation, blocks and chat preferences.
- Likes, saved items, blocks and outdated-content flags on Crew Talk.
- Notification tokens and the sessions of optional integrations.
The app also erases, on the device itself, your imported roster, personal events, saved airline portal passwords, the calendar CrewSync created, check-in alerts, widgets and the data sent to your watch. You do not need to uninstall for that to happen.
Your Crew Talk posts and comments are hidden immediately and stop appearing in search and in the feed. Their permanent destruction happens later, within the period described in section 4.
4. What is retained, and why
A few exceptions, all for safety, due process or legal obligation:
- Crew chat reports. When a message is reported, a copy of it and the sender's technical data (IP address and device model) are preserved for moderation for up to 12 months, even if the author deletes the message or the account. After that the record is deleted automatically. Without it, deleting an account and creating another would wipe the history of abusive behaviour, and the report of the person who was harmed would lose its effect.
- Crew Talk reports. A report records the reported content, the reason and who reported it, with no IP address. The community access log, which does carry IP, is deleted automatically after 180 days, as required by Brazil's Marco Civil da Internet (art. 15).
- Crew Talk posts and comments. They are hidden as soon as you ask, but kept for up to 5 years before permanent destruction, together with the reports you filed and the appeals you submitted. That is the window in which a moderation decision can still be challenged, by you or by whoever was affected: destroying the content right away would remove the evidence for both sides. If a court order concerning you is in force, the clock is suspended until it is resolved (Marco Civil, art. 15).
- Moderation trail. The decisions moderation took and the messages we sent you stay on record. They document what we did, not what you wrote.
- Permanent bans. In case of a ban for serious conduct, we keep an irreversible code derived from your e-mail (not the address itself, and there is no way back from it to the address). It exists only to stop the same person from opening a new account the next day and starting over. Without it, any ban would last exactly as long as a new sign-up.
- In every case the records are restricted to the moderation team and are not used for any other purpose.
- Tax and payment records. Subscriptions are processed by the App Store and Google Play, and the receipts stay with them, subject to those stores' policies and legal retention periods. CrewSync never stores your card details.
5. What about “Erase cloud data”?
The app has an item called Erase cloud data (iOS under Settings → Preferences → Danger zone). It deletes your CrewSync account, not just your rosters: profile, CrewSync ID, connections, shared calendar and integrations all go with it, exactly as with “Delete account”.
The only difference is your sign-in, which survives: you can log back in with the same e-mail, but into an empty account with a new CrewSync ID, and colleagues who had you in their connections will need to add you again. If you only want to stop syncing without losing anything, turn sync off instead of using that button.
Crew chat can also be switched off on its own, without touching anything else: Settings → Crew chat → turn off “Join chats”. Messages in chats you already joined keep expiring on their own schedule (3 days after the group's last message, at most 15 days after the flight).
